Buste de « Diane Chasseresse » d’après le sculpteur Jean-Antoine Houdon en bronze à deux patines d’origine,sur socle tournant. Portant la signature de Houdon au dos,
ainsi que le cachet et la signature du fondeur « Susse frères à Paris »,
d’époque deuxième partie du XIXe.
En excellent état de conservation.

Diane est la déesse de la chasse, et de la nuit dans la mythologie romaine, assimilée à Artémis dans la mythologie grecque. Fille de Jupiter et sœur jumelle d’Apollon, dieu du Soleil. Armée d’un arc, de flèches et court vêtue elle vit dans les forêts. Diane est représentée auréolée d’un croissant de lune sur la tête

Bust of "Diane Chasseresse"  bronze with two patinas of origin, on rotating base. Bearing the signature of Houdon on the back,  and also the seal and the signature of the founder "Susse brothers in Paris", produced in the second part of the nineteenth century.
 In excellent condition. 
Jean-Antoine Houdon (1741-1828) is one of the most important sculptors of the eighteenth Diane is the goddess of hunting, and the night in Roman mythology, assimilated to Artemis in Greek mythology.
